Learn How to Enable and Use Remote Access in Tally Prime (Silver User)
Important Prerequisites
- You must have a valid Tally.NET Subscription (even for Silver License).
- Internet connectivity.
- A Tally.NET ID (email registered with Tally Solutions).
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Activate Tally.NET Services
- Open Tally Prime.
- Go to F1: Help → TSS Features.
- Confirm that Tally.NET Services are active (shows Active).
If not active, renew your Tally.NET Subscription.
2. Create a Security Control with Tally.NET User
- Press Alt + K (Company Menu) → Security Control → Users and Passwords.
- Enable Set/Alter Tally.NET User: Yes.
- Create a user:
- Enter Email ID registered on Tally.NET.
- Assign Remote Access Rights (Full Access or restricted).
This enables the user to connect remotely.
3. Connect Company to Tally.NET
- Press F3: Company Info → Connect Company.
- Select your company.
- It will show as Connected (top of the screen).
Now your company is online and ready for remote access.
4. Login Remotely
- On another computer (anywhere in the world):
- Install Tally Prime (even if without license — just Install!).
- Choose Remote Login option at startup.
- Enter your Tally.NET ID and Password.
- You will see the list of companies available.
- Connect and work on Tally as if you were local!
Data remains at your main computer, only screen data is transmitted securely.
Security Notes
- Tally uses SSL encryption for remote sessions.
- No need to open ports or change firewall settings.
- Only authorized Tally.NET IDs can access your data.
